Good Neighbours is an interactive documentary-in-the-making by Klasien van de Zandschulp (NL) and Dr. Natalie Dixon (ZA). Currently in research phase, Good Neighbours explores the emerging culture of intimate neighbourhood surveillance in Johannesburg and Amsterdam. How does mobile technology configure neighbourhoods as spaces of inclusion for some and exclusion for others?
Latest: Good Neighbours was part of the Fak’ugesi Digital Innovation Festival in Johannesburg 30 August - 8 September 2019.
‘Good Neighbours‘ took part in the Fak’ugesi festival in Johannesburg with a workshop, talk and performance. Working at the intersection of media theory and artistic practice, we invited the Fak’ugesi audience to consider the embodied dimension of our hyperconnected world through participatory performance; and discussed Good Neighbours, our interactive documentary (currently in the making).
